The Story Behind Remembear
Hi, I’m Jess, the creator of Remembear. My journey started simply: I wanted a special way to hold on to my children’s cherished clothes, those tiny outfits that hold so many memories but can be hard to store or part with.
I taught myself to sew, just experimenting at first, then deciding to get out of my comfort zone and try making a bear from some of my kids’ old clothes. Some of those clothes even featured prints from my previous creative venture, Squiffy Print, which made the bear even more personal and unique. When I shared that bear with friends and family, I was overwhelmed by how much they loved it, and how many of them wanted one of their own.
That’s when the idea for Remembear truly took shape.
What began as a personal project quickly grew into something more. I realised that many people want a tangible way to hold onto memories, especially from their children’s early years, in a form that’s not just stored away but something they can see and cherish every day. So, I decided to create Remembear - a small business dedicated to transforming children’s clothing into handmade memory bears, stitched with care and love.
Each Remembear is crafted from your baby or children’s clothes, turning fabric filled with memories into a beautiful keepsake. Though these bears aren’t toys, they are made with safety eyes and noses, perfect for display or gentle holding.
Starting Remembear means more than just making bears, it’s about helping families keep their stories alive in a heartfelt, handmade way.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope Remembear can be a part of your family’s memories, too.
With love,
Jess x
